[ DESIGNATION: Twin Sister ]
North's person since birth, the left to his right, his closest confidante. Even after their relationship was strained to its limits by Project Freelancer and rocked by the betrayal that landed him in Pumpkin Hollow, the two remain inseparable. Even so, they have a lot to do in order to unravel the damage done to them and the sordid coping mechanisms they developed as a result. South is a complicated, traumatized person with a lot of anger and self-hatred built up under her walls, and North's compulsive people pleasing isn't doing either of them any favors, especially since that impulse is so escalated when it comes to her. They're a troubled, co-dependent pair, but at the end of the day, there's no one North would rather stand shoulder to shoulder with than the person who's been his number one for his whole life.
[ DESIGNATION: Partner AI, adoptive son ]
Originally the artificial intelligence program installed into North's neural connection point, since coming to Pumpkin Hollow, Theta's been given a physical body that sure does look suspiciously a lot like North. It's no surprise either--- Theta's personality is rooted in the aspect of trust, and North was chosen as his agent due to being a naturally nurturing person, and they were always close. North takes Theta's thorough and inherent trust for him extremely seriously, and treats it with the utmost care. As the two have developed their bond on a much more human level, it seemed only natural for Theta to begin calling North "Dad," and North is more than proud to consider Theta his son.
[ DESIGNATION: friend, love interest ]
One of North's first friends upon arrival to Pumpkin Hollow, fellow food and weather enthusiast, and someone whose zest for life has influenced North's acceptance of his new life more than he can say. There's a lot that they still don't know about each other, but North can't help but find himself profoundly charmed by the way she sees beauty in everything and connects with her community so poignantly. He watches her fall in love with the small wonders around her and falls a little more, himself--- a dangerous game, with how tentative she is to accept the commitment of a relationship. He doesn't need to understand why to respect the boundary, but maybe if he did...
[ DESIGNATION: romantic partner ]
One never really expects to end up bonding with, much less dating, a smarmy digital rabbit while living in a Victorian gothic village, but here we are. Jax is someone who quite literally barged into North's life out of nowhere and the pair got on like a house on fire from the jump. Jax is closed off emotionally, but in many ways, so is North. One way or another, the two of them have found their own language to communicate in, and that's enough for now. The scars can come later.
[ DESIGNATION: friends with benefits? TBD ]
When North was at the lowest he's been since coming to the island, Edgar was someone he could count on to confide in. Not only that, but but he was someone who got it. North didn't really expect anyone to understand what went on between himself and his sister, but Edgar not only didn't blame North for not wanting to cut her off, he shared a similar story of his own. Edgar has been otherwise a bit quiet about his past, but he's always been good for a bit of harmless mischief or tomfoolery, and now that they've had a little tryst at Merrymeet, it seems like their relationship is moving in some kind of direction. Are they still just friends? Or is it more?
[ DESIGNATION: friend ]
Another confidante of North's. Anzu is an older guy, as well as a fellow twin, who helped guide North through his falling out with South. His level-headed perspective and willingness to share his own story had a hand in why North had the confidence to seek her out during the island's stint in the Dreamlands palance of Kadath, and he'll be forever grateful for the level ground to stand on. He sees Anzu as a voice of reason, and after years of having to play that role himself, he's deeply grateful for someone to lean on.
[ DESIGNATION: friend (hot) ]
They hurled each other bodily into the snow and it was hilarious. Still getting to know each other, but they've hung out casually and in groups since then and Shen Qingqiu is always a good time.
[ DESIGNATION: neighbor, friend ]
The cute girl who just moved onto the plot of land beside North's. The fact that she's a ragdoll doesn't bug North too much--- she's not the first person he's met with odd physiology. North sees a lot of himself in her on a personal level to the point where it's weirdly easy to be open with her, and values her expertise in animal handling and farm work in general. He's happy to trade a bit of manual labor for her insight and looks forward to seeing more of her.
[ DESIGNATION: hookup, friend? ]
A weird, forward guy that North's taken a shine to. He's good fun, but obviously detached. Maybe eventually he'll open up, allow a few more of his mysteries to be solved, or maybe he and North will keep floating around each other like orbiting planets. Either way, North won't force the issue. He'll just keep being himself, and hope that Violet will see him as a safe place to land.
[ DESIGNATION: bestie ]
In no uncertain terms, North considers Teddy Pennyburrow his best friend. There's almost no one he trusts as much with Theta's well-being, and despite his outwardly buttoned-up appearance, Teddy is someone who is fun, clever, silly, warm-hearted, and a little crazy when he's drunk.
[ CONSISTS OF: North, Edgar, Shen Qingqiu, Radar, Francis, Teddy, Leon, Curly, Artemy, Anzu ]
North's friend group. They hang out together, especially at community events and festivals, and get into shenanigans together, or play harmless pranks on one another. Anzu is usually mostly supervising to make sure no one gets into too much trouble.
